Rasuwa / Bhotekoshi–Trishuli Flood
A source-tracked operational snapshot covering current risk, provisional impact, access, Earth observation and the preliminary Youth Innovation Lab field assessment.
Current official risk
NDRRMA warned that a debris-blocked lake on the Bhotekoshi was rising and at risk of breaching, and advised people and responders along lower riverbanks to move to safer areas. Treat the upstream blockage as an active hazard until authorities publish a superseding assessment.
An earlier DHM River Watch observation listed Trishuli at Furke below warning level and steady. That station condition does not cancel the separate upstream blockage risk.
Latest official impact
All figures are provisional and may change as Nepal Police, NDRRMA and local authorities reconcile reports. Metrics use different definitions and reporting times and must not be added together.
Access and priority needs
Road and bridge damage is severe across the Betrawati–Rasuwagadhi corridor. Humanitarian reporting describes communities cut off by impassable roads and damaged bridges. Physical damage and authoritative route passability remain separate assessments.

Evacuation from lower riverbanks, search and rescue, medical support and verified family-contact systems.

Youth Innovation Lab preliminary drone assessment
Youth Innovation Lab (YIL) reported field acquisition toward Dhunche, Syabrubesi, Upper and Lower Timure, Rasuwagadhi / the border area, Betrawati, Mailung, Indrawati and Trishuli Bazaar. Reported observations indicate severe corridor impacts, including road loss, bridge damage, bank erosion and debris deposition.
Important limitation: NESRA has not yet reviewed the underlying geospatial products. These are preliminary field observations, not a NESRA-validated damage layer or route-open/route-closed determination. YIL reported post-processing underway.
- Expected outputs include orthomosaics, mapped damage observations and selected 3D products.
- Priority follow-up: verify road and bridge passability, geolocate critical infrastructure impacts and reconcile drone observations with official access reports.
