This is NESRA’s strongest and most consistently documented strategic area — a track record of convening, teaching, and engaging Nepal’s space community since 2018.
Why This Matters for Nepal
Nepal has engineering talent but few structured pathways into the space sector. NESRA works to close that gap: building technical skills, connecting students to international space-sector opportunities, and making the space industry a visible, credible career path for Nepali students and professionals.
Documented Track Record
- National Space Meet of Nepal — NESRA’s flagship convening event, held in 2018 and again as a two-day programme in 2019, drawing sustained, full-auditorium attendance.
- SpaceGeneration[Nepal] 2019 — co-hosted with the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC), including a technical presentation on the NepaliSat-1/BIRDS-3 satellite project by researchers from the Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan.
- Space Mission Design Workshop (2020) — hands-on technical programming at Kathmandu University with Open Cosmos (UK).
- Student Ambassadors Programme — a structured youth-engagement programme, with recruitment cycles documented in 2022 and 2024.
Some of these activities, such as the Student Ambassadors Programme, are documented as past cycles; their current 2025/2026 status is being confirmed before this page states whether they are actively recruiting.
Where This Is Going
NESRA intends to grow National Space Meet and its education programming into a recurring, larger-scale annual fixture, and to formalise ambassador and mentorship pathways as demand grows.
